An alumnus of the Juilliard School, Evelina Chao holds the chair of Assistant Principal Viola of the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, where she has appeared as a soloist. Her novel, Gates of Grace, was published in 1985. In 2001 she established her practice as a certified Life Coach. She shares a home in St. Paul, Minnesota, with bassist Fred Bretschger.
