About...In 2003, at the outset of the Iraq war, Nicholas Kulish
was embedded with a Marine attack-helicopter squadron for
The Wall Street Journal. That same year he was awarded a
Fulbright Fellowship in creative writing. He is currently an
editorial writer at The New York Times. His work has
appeared in the Times, the Journal, The Washington Post,
The Washington Monthly, and ESPN The Magazine. He
currently lives in New York City.
