Jacqueline Novogratz received an MBA from Stanford. In
1986 she left traditional banking to become a social
entrepreneur, creating organizations that foster economic
independence and individual dignity. In 2001 she founded
Acumen Fund, a nonprofit venture capital fund that
demonstrates how small amounts of philanthropic capital
combined with business acumen can help the poor. Her work
has been profiled in the New York Times, Fortune, The
Economist, the Financial Times, Business Week
and other media. She lives in New York and travels
extensively.
