THE JEWEL TRADER OF PEGU by Jeffrey Hantover is one of 21 titles picked by Barnes & Noble to be a Spring "Discover Great New Writers" selection. The selection books (both fiction and nonfiction) are chosen by an in-house Barnes & Noble reading committee. More than 800 Barnes & Noble stores feature this program as well as 36 Barnes & Noble college bookstores. The Spring “Discover” display dates are February, March, April 2008.

About the same time Borders Bookstores selected THE JEWEL TRADER OF PEGU as a pick for their “Original Voices” program which runs January 8 through February 4, 2008.
